Member Benefits
Membership in the KSCPA benefits you, the accounting profession, and the general public.
As a member, you have the opportunity to:
Build Relationships
Forge lasting ties with CPAs and affiliate members who share common professional interests and similar business concerns. Networking opportunities, career services, young professional programs and events designed to help professionals cope with work/life issues are a few benefits of membership. Leadership events and professional issues updates are held biannually at no charge to the members.
Learn
Attend KSCPA conferences, specialized courses, and luncheon meetings in accounting & auditing, taxation, technology, consulting, personal development, ethics, practice management, and leadership. Members receive discounts and benefit from on-line education tracking.
Stay Informed
The AICPA, Kansas Board of Accountancy, IRS, Kansas Department of Revenue, and other state agencies use the KSCPA to provide information to our members, and we immediately publish it on our website and in monthly newsletters – Skyscapes, BIG/E News, Tax E-ssentials, and Firm E-ssentials. The KSCPA also publishes a repertoire of materials (articles, podcasts, and videos) about the most important issues facing the CPA profession.
Be Represented
KSCPA government affairs representatives at the Statehouse and AICPA representatives in Washington follow legislative issues throughout the year. Weekly podcasts and bill trackers are posted on the KSCPA website during session. The Legislative Executive Committee reviews issues, establishes positions, if necessary, and members respond by communicating with legislators and testifying when needed. The KSCPA Political Action Committee supports the campaigns of members in the Kansas legislature who have positive influence on issues in line with the KSCPA mission. Designated and elected council representatives participate in this governing body of the AICPA at three meetings a year.
Get Involved
Serve on a committee and/or task force, join your local chapter, participate in the “20 up to 40” Leadership Program, be a “Woman to Watch,” mentor a student. …to name a few leadership opportunities available through membership in the KSCPA. The opportunities to volunteer or to be a leader with the KSCPA are endless and open to all members.
Help Support Future CPAs
The KSCPA Educational Foundation provides over $50,000 annually to graduate and undergraduate students at Kansas Regents and independent colleges and universities and provides grants to faculty members.
