Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support and participate in the development of the company’ s strategic plans
• Monitor the financial performance of the company and report to upper management while providing unique solutions, strategies, and ideas
• Compile and analyze financial and other reporting packages
• Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’ s procedures
• Communicate financial metrics to upper management including fellow staff
• Provide guidance, proactive solutions and ideas, and cross functional problem solving across all areas of the business
• Work with and assist CFO on strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and securing of new funding
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Skills/Qualifications:

• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of proven Financial Controller experience in a manufacturing environment;
• Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills across multiple disciplines and areas with a high energy and positive attitude
• Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
• Ability to establish deadlines for themselves and the team
• Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software)
• Experience in forecasting and budgeting
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
• Experience with creating financial statements with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Cost accounting experience a plus
• Auditing and inventory experience a plus
• Prior experience in the manufacturing industry a plus but not required
• Idea candidate would have excellent people skills
