As a female, being an effective leader in the accounting profession demands a heightened level of grace and poise. Balancing the many commitments in your life to not just be competitive, but to move up in the workplace means continuously weaving between the strategic and the tactical.  What I have found is that women have an incredible toolbox of skills including nurture and empathy that can be unique in good leaders.  Embracing some of these tendencies really contributes to being able to consistently display behavior that younger women coming into the profession can look up to.” – Angela Malley, CPA, CGMA

The KSCPA and AICPA sponsor the ‘Women to Watch’ Award program which honors outstanding women in the profession. The ‘Women to Watch’ award highlights the accomplishments of women in the profession and demonstrates to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach. The awards are given in two categories:
Emerging Leaders and Experienced Leaders. Emerging Leaders are those women who are up-and-coming stars in their organizations, while Experienced Leaders are those who have established their roles as leaders in their organizations by advancing to the highest levels of management or ownership, and by mentoring those following in their footsteps.

KSCPA and AICPA will be awarding two of these outstanding women accounting professionals (an Emerging Female Leader and an Experienced Female Leader), while honoring all nominees at a celebration at KC Wine Co. on Friday, October 19! Interested in showcasing your support for these inspirational leaders? 2018 'Wine Barrel of Fun' Sponsorships are available!
