The Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPAs Elects 2019-2020 Officers and Trustees

The Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPAs held its Annual Meeting on November 1, 2019 at the Accounting Innovation Center in Kansas City. 

Becky Shaw, CPA, Berberich Trahan & Co, P.A., Topeka, was elected as Chair of the Educational Foundation Board of Trustees for 2019-2020. Other elected officers of the 2019-2020 Educational Foundation Board of Trustees are: Vice Chair, Kimberly D. Charland, M.Acc., CPA, Kansas State University, Manhattan; Secretary/Treasurer, Rachel A. Green, CPA, The University of Kansas, Lawrence; Trustee, Jeff Bryant, Ph.D., JD, CPA, Wichita State University, Wichita; and Trustee Misty Schartz, MBA, CPA, Fort Hays State University, Hays. 

The 2019-2020 KSCPA Chair, Damon C. Ward, CPA, CGMA, Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Wichita, will also serve a one-year term on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. 

The Mission of the Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPAs is to fund educational programs that advance the accounting profession. The Foundation, established in 1964, achieves this mission by awarding scholarships and grants to undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty. Awarding grants and scholarships has increased awareness of the accounting profession to students and has helped the members of the KSCPA to establish cooperative relationships with the faculties of the colleges and universities in Kansas.
