Program Description

The KSCPA Lead to the Future Leadership Program (L2F) is designed for accounting professionals with 3+ years of accounting industry experience. 

This program equips emerging leaders with the skills needed to bring actionable insights to the workplace and drive future success for the entire organization.

  • December 3: Leadership Foundations (1-5 p.m.)
    Explore your leadership style and build your personal foundation.

  • December 4: Essential Leadership Skills (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
    Enhance emotional intelligence, communication, and delegation.

  • December 5: Taking Your Leadership to the Next Level (8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.)
    Develop coaching skills, utilize AI, and plan your next steps.

Participant Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting industry experience 
  • Licensed CPA
  • Be in a supervisory role (below partner level, no age limit)
  • Demonstrate an increasing level of responsibility
  • Showcase potential for continual leadership within the organization
  • Be a member of the KSCPA

Facilitator

Jonathan R. Lokhorst, CPA, PCC

Jon Lokhorst, CSP, CPA, PCC, is a keynote speaker, corporate trainer, leadership coach, and the author of Mission-Critical Leadership: How Smart Managers Lead Well in All Directions. He works with organizations to develop leaders everyone wants to follow, build teams no one wants to leave, and deliver exceptional results. Before launching Your Best Leadership LLC, Jon enjoyed a 30-plus year career as a CPA, CFO, and organizational leader. He has a Master's in Organizational Leadership and is recognized by the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). Jon is a member of the National Speakers Association and has served as President of the Minnesota chapter. He has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, a distinction held by less than 20 percent of NSA members. On a personal note, Jon loves grandparenting and being "Papa" to his four adorable littles, as he calls them.
