Major Duties:

  • Oversee the Company‚Äôs assets and liabilities, including interest rate risk, stress testing, liquidity management and contingency planning
  • Serves as primary liaison with both external and internal auditors as well as regulators and examiners
  • Will be responsible for the management and administration of finances. This includes developing strategic plans based on company goals to promote growth
  • Works with other leaders to monitor financial activities and provide financial guidance as needed
  • Establish and monitor accounting staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
  • Preparation of all financial statements and regulatory reports, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, bank call reports, Federal Reserve reports, and other governmental or regulatory agency reports
  • The Controller will oversee, direct, and organize the accounting, risk, budget preparation and audit functions, enable cross- collaboration across divisions and business units to create tools and processes that support reporting, analysis, and forecasting
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and GL reconciliations monthly.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
  • Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease, or disposal of such items
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources
  • Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations
  • Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities
  • Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met
  • Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities, such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Assist in filing duties


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree or CPA qualification is preferred
  • 5-10 years accounting management experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management skills and be a self-starter
  • Detail oriented and ability to self-audit work to ensure accuracy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
